Welcome back to the 2026 Canterbury 8-Ball season, I hope you all had a nice Christmas and New Years break. 2026 is a massive season for Canterbury with all of the Major tournaments being held within Christchurch, South Islands, National Ladies, Masters and National Open. Also, as per the AGM on Sunday (thank you everyone who attended) we have larger numbers of teams in some of our divisions. All of these factors mean that the length of our interclub season has had to increase as well. Here is the draw for Division 2, whose start date is Wednesday the 4th of February. We are very conscious that some clubs have summer leagues that will not be finished by that date and apologise that, for this year, we had no other choice than to start earlier. We are hoping to have the draw for Premieres, Division 1 and Division 3 done by the end of this week, and the start date for those three divisions will be Tuesday the 3rd of March and Wednesday the 4th of March.Please take special note that we have had to play some matches at ‘Neutral venues’ as we have less tables/clubs available to us with the earlier start. Where the venue for the match is impacted, the substitute venue is noted in RED beside the match.I just want to give a special shout out to Ronnie Symonds and Sherralee Boyce for all their work in making this solution possible, to the ‘Neutral Venues’ clubs who have stepped up to host, as well as to all of the players within our C8B family for their support.
